Started by Guy Whetstone and Stephen Appleby, Advision took over what was originally Guy De Bere Studios and set up as a four track using a Telefunken tape machine.

Originally intended for recording jingles and voice-overs, the work quickly changed as  an independent studio became the place where some of biggest pop and rock records of the 60s and 70s were recorded.

In 1970 the main control room at Advision housed a 24/8 custom desk designed by Dag Fjelner with Scully 8 -track tape machine.  Pye and Audio Design compressors.

In 1971 the mixdown suite had a Neve 20/16.

In 1973 the studio installed  the first Quad Eight console in the country.

In 1984 the studio was still Quad Eight  but they had also installed an SSL.

Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds remained in the British album charts for six years, with the best estimates available putting sales so far at 13 million.
